Sculpture, Video mapping
“You have died and find yourself kindly embraced by the Universe. Before returning to the stars, you are given another chance to reflect on your beloved life. During this time, reminisce about the way you’ve spent your time, embracing both joys and challenges.”

That Happened? Is a Video Mapping Installation that invites viewers to gently cuddle a sculpture representing the Universe. It aims to remind us that, regardless of the circumstances of our corporeal life, we are peacefully united and returned to stardust. This installation encourages us to envision the kindness the universe possesses beyond human understanding.

Concurrent explosions and undulations reminiscent of mycelium networks and the nebulae found within the visible confines of out galaxy. Emanate within the soft skin of the Universe waiting for us to caress and become one with.

Within this installation, the viewers watch the vibrant life of a red-eyed tree frog unjustly ended by a logging. In the vastness of the universe, it is unjust for a single species to thrive at the expense of harming all other beings who share our small blue marble in the cosmos.

That Happened? was installed in Emmedia Gallery and Production Society, during the 2024 Particle & Wave Media Arts Festival in Calgary Alberta. The exhibit ran from March 7th to April 6th.
